Founded by Jean-Michel Gadoua in 2019, 8888 is a collective of Montréal-based creators of visionary objects. We reject contemporary priorities and unquestionably adopt the posture of discomfort. We are Brutaluxe™. We celebrate and elevate raw materials and spontaneous gestures. We are the antidote to industrial and impersonal manufacturing.

A natural born curator, designer and editor, Jean-Michel Gadoua has built up a reputation as an aesthetic leader in contemporary design. Always the visionary, the designer by a trade, started his career in graphic design and music, as the creative director for the record label Le Son 666. He then moved into interior design, joining the reputable high-end boutique Celadon Collection, first as a design consultant before taking on the role of Creative Director. In 2020, he founded Éditions 8888, an experimental design cell, out of a desire to create without constraints.
